Are you the kind of person who wants the truth thrown straight at you, even if it hurts?
I’m that person.
And I didn’t know it until I heard a very bold man make the truth plain to me:
He said- The things that I did… were things that God hates.
The sensual & violent things that I watched on TV…
The blasphemous music that I listened to…
The wicked thoughts that went through my head…
The perversity that flew out of my mouth…
…were abominations to God.
I was full of pride.
Full of envy.
I realized at that moment: I was a sinner.
A selfish liar, full of greed and lust.
I was an enemy of God, breaking all of His commandments.
I knew that if I died at that moment, I would be cast into the lake of fire forever.
But then the Lord, through that bold preacher, reached down into my soul, and abounded unto me something so simple, yet so profound.
Grace.
God’s
Righteous
Atonement
Changed
Everything
And that glorious light came down from above.
That bittersweet truth pierced my heart.
I understood.
Jesus died on the cross for me.
He shed His precious blood to keep me out of hell.
To wash away all my sins.
To redeem my soul from the power of death.
All I had to do was believe and receive Him.
And I fell to my knees, crying out to the Saviour, to save me.
Some would call it a prayer. But I wasn’t actively thinking about praying.
I was just on the floor pouring out my soul to Him, asking Him to take me as I am.
And when I lifted up my eyes, I was a new creature in Christ Jesus.
I felt the chains of sin and death fall off of me.
The Holy Spirit moved in.
I was free in Christ!!!!!
He saved me!!!!!!
And that’s why I’m here today posting this.
He is my everything.
I am redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.
He gave me what no man could give me.
He gave me what I could never earn myself.
A free gift of grace.
Selfless love.
Eternal life.
But enough about me. Let’s talk about you.
Here is the truth as plain as I can make it: Without JESUS CHRIST, you will die in your sins. And after you die and stand before God, who is holy and no respecter of persons, you will be cast into the lake of fire to burn for all eternity.
That doesn’t have to happen to you. And that’s because of one man. Just one. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
~2000 years ago, Jesus accomplished the greatest feat in history. He lived a perfect sinless life.
He loved God the Father with all his heart, soul, strength and mind every single day without fail, while also loving his neighbor as himself. There was no reason at all for him to die, because he was the only man in history to earn eternal life by God’s standard.
And yet, there was not a drop of pride in his bones. He is the good shepherd. And he chose to lay down his life for his sheep.
When he suffered, bled & died on the cross as a perfect sacrifice, his blood bought you from all your sins. Death had no power or claim on him. And on the third day, God raised him from the dead. Today He is seated on the right hand of the throne of God.
Do you believe this in your heart? Repent. Believe. Call upon him for salvation. He will hear your cry, and by the power & grace of God, you will pass from death unto life.
How do I get saved?
It’s simple. A man is born again when he comes to God as a sinner, full of repentance, and believes the gospel. The gospel is that Jesus Christ died, shedding His innocent blood for your sins, and rose again the third day. He died to save you from that place of torment, which was prepared for the devil and his angels. When you truly repent and trust Jesus from your heart, you will call out to Him for salvation, knowing He alone can save you. It’s not anything you can earn from good deeds. Nor can it be gained by religious customs. It’s a real gift from God Himself, that you can receive by faith. At that moment of faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ, when you call upon His name, you are washed and cleansed in His blood, and the Holy Spirit moves inside of you. All of your sins are forgiven, and you are born of the Spirit, as a new creature in Christ Jesus. Your new life in Christ begins. Unlike before, you will start to feel a heavy wave of guilt when you sin and offend the Lord who saved you, as the Spirit wars against the desires of your flesh (the old man). As you grow in Christ and abide in His word, you will grow in holiness, and become more like Him.
- 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 – Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
- Ephesians 2:8-9 – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast
- Colossians 2:13 – And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
- John 8:24 – I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
- Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
- Revelation 20:15 – And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
- Matthew 25:41 – Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels
- John 14:6 – Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
- Romans 10:9-10 – That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
How does salvation work- how does God save me?
His blood. According to God’s word, it is the blood that makes the atonement for a soul. Leviticus 17:11 is one of the most important verses in the Bible. Atonement means “at-one-ment” or to make one. When Christ died and shed His blood, His perfect blood made the atonement for us (Romans 5:11), and it is through His blood that we are justified, redeemed, and cleansed from all sin. Before Jesus died on the cross and rose again, nobody went to heaven when they died. They went to Abraham’s bosom, which is in the heart of the earth (Luke 16:22-23). Abraham’s bosom is now empty, because Jesus took them with Him when He rose again (Ephesians 4:8).
- Romans 5:9 – Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
- Ephesians 2:13-14 – But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
- Colossians 1:14 – In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins
- 1 Peter 1:18-19 – Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
- 1 John 1:7 – …the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
- Revelation 1:5 – …Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
Do I need to be baptized to be saved?
In water? No. In the Spirit? Yes. This happens when you are saved.
- Acts 11:16 – Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
- Ephesians 4:4 – There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
- 1 Corinthians 12:13 – For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
- Colossians 2:11-12 – In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
What happens at the moment of salvation?
You are born again of incorruptible seed. You are baptized into the body of Christ. You are a member of the church. You are bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh. You are redeemed and washed by His blood. You are sealed by the Holy Spirit. You are spiritually circumcised from your flesh. You are forgiven of all trespasses. The Holy Spirit enters you. God’s righteousness is imputed onto you. You receive eternal life. You are reconciled to God and saved from wrath. You are married to Christ. You are dead to the law and crucified with Christ. You become a new creature in Christ Jesus. You become a king and a priest. Your name is written in the Lamb’s book of life.
- 1 Peter 1:23 – Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
- 1 Corinthians 12:13 – For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
- Ephesians 5:29-20 – For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
- Ephesians 1:7 – In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
- Revelation 1:5 – …Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood
- Ephesians 4:30 – And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
- Colossians 2:11-14 – In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
- Romans 8:9-11 – But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
- Romans 4:20-24 – He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
- John 10:27-28 – My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
- Romans 5:9-10 – Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
- Romans 7:4 – Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
- Galatians 2:19-20 – For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
- 2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
- Revelation 1:6 – And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
- Philippians 4:3 – And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.
What does it mean to be ‘born again’?
As an infant, you were born by a man/woman via water birth. But when you are born again, you are born of the Spirit. You become a new creature in Christ.
What do I do after I’ve received Jesus as my Saviour?
Get baptized. Abide in Christ to become like Him. Read the Bible continually. Pray continually. Love others continually. Put off the old man and deeds of the flesh. Walk according to the Spirit. Share the gospel. Join a local church that does not flirt with the world, but rather keeps the word of God and is fully grounded on the Bible (KJB).
Which Bible translation should I read?
The King James Bible. Modern Bibles come from different corrupted manuscript sources, and have completely distorted a lot of the text. This video explains further.
Can I lose my salvation?
No. If you could lose eternal life, it wouldn’t be eternal life to begin with. This is common sense. Several Bible verses may be used to say otherwise, but they are always taken out of context or misapplied to the church when they are meant for a different time and people. If you are truly born again, the Spirit dwelling in you will war against the flesh, and the flesh against the Spirit. The new man vs the old man.
Also, it’s important to know: just because you cannot lose your salvation, does not give you a license to sin. Sure, you will stumble. And the devil might make a fool out of you, but if you’re truly born again, the Lord will chasten you like a son. Because that’s what you are. If you have been born again, you should have enough sense to realize God has died for your sins not so that you should continue on sinning, but rather to repent, grow in holiness, and be sanctified by His word.
